We contributed to the Sharp Chula Vista Ocean View Tower project at Sharp Chula Vista Hospital in Chula Vista, California. Our work helped this building project to earn the prestigious National Award of Excellence and the 2019 Design-Build Project of the Year awards from the Design Build Institute of America (DBIA).
Creating solutions within OSHPD standards can be challenging for many California sheet metal fabricators, but the Ehmcke team has developed significant experience in this area. OSHPD building codes are essential for California’s healthcare infrastructure sector, ensuring that all hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and other medical facilities follow stringent guidelines during construction and renovation activities, including regulations regarding seismic safety.
This project involved collaboration with architect Hensel Phelps, AVRP Studios, and SmithGroup. As a primary sheet metal provider and fabricator for the project, Ehmcke Sheet Metal Corp. contributed numerous structural and design elements to improve the functionality and aesthetic appeal of the Sharp Chula Vista Ocean View Tower.
